Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Cleveland Indians home opener. Justin Judson started for the home team against Greg Weislo for the Minnesota Twins. The Indians were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 5-3, Minnesota. Bobby Blanchard, though, was impressive. Greg Weislo got the win, improving to 1-0. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 9 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 1 and walking 2. Mario Arce sewed up the save, his 1st.

With Minnesota leading 1-0 in the top of the second, Blanchard hit a fastball from Justin Judson for a run-scoring triple. It was his 1st triple of the season and put the Twins ahead, 2-0.

Blanchard called the triumph "a good team win."
