Brewers Lose By a Run at Detroit, 6-5
Crowds lined up early in front of Comerica Park, eagerly awaiting the start of the 2044 Major League Baseball season. On the mound was Matt Evans for the visiting Milwaukee Brewers and Ryan Sobocinski for the hometown Detroit Tigers. In a spirited contest, the Tigers pulled out the win, defeating the Brewers by the score of 6-5. Especially impressive was Tetsuya Oba. Detroit pitcher Ryan Sobocinski got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Willie Felix got the loss. Riso Profanter earned save number 1 this season.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, Greg Harman went deep for the Tigers. With Detroit trailing 4-2, he drilled a 2-run home run.

"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Detroit manager Colin Lancey.
