Rangers Lose to Mariners, 3-1
|
Seattle picked up a win at Safeco Field, bumping off the Texas Rangers, 3-1. Pitcher Bas Kooy was a major reason the Mariners emerged victorious. Kooy, now 16-8, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 4, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. William Cordero converted his 13th save in 18 tries.
The Mariners picked up the win with a combination of good hitting and good pitching.
Kooy said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."
The Mariners have an impressive 94-57 record.
