					| White Sox Deal Red Sox 6-2 Defeat |
					| The Chicago White Sox dumped the Boston Red Sox, 6-2, in large part due to designated hitter Cesar Herrera. On the day, Herrera went 2-3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the White Sox. Xenophon Valvis picked up the win with 6.1 innings of work. He allowed 2 runs on 6 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 7. On the season, he is now 3-1. Chicago leads the American League Central Division by 7½ games.
With Chicago leading 3-1 in the top of the second, Herrera hit a fastball from Justin Stinson for a 2-run home run. It was his 25th home run of the season and put the White Sox ahead, 5-1.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Herrera. "And not try to do too much."
