					| Washington Hot Streak Continues with 5-3 Win |
					| Led by Armando Carbajal, the Washington Nationals downed the Chicago Cubs, 5-3. Carbajal was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Nationals. Dale Ahernfeld, the winning pitcher, is now 14-2. He went 7.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits, while fanning 2 and walking 1. Chris Baran earned his 17th save in 18 chances.
Washington took a 5-0 lead on Carbajal's 21st home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which he hit off Nate Jackson in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Washington to the win.

Carbajal told a Washington News reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.

The Nationals have an impressive 98-42 record.
