Daniel Donovan had a good game, but he could not keep the Milwaukee Brewers from falling, 8-6, to the Pittsburgh Pirates at Miller Park. The Milwaukee left fielder was 2-3 with a triple, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once in the loss. Sam Richardson, who went 6 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 4 runs on 11 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 6. His record now stands at 16-9. The Pirates improve their record to 68-70 with the win over Milwaukee.

Pittsburgh used the clutch hitting of Marvin McAleer to capture the win. The center fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Pirates ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"We came out aggressive," said Pirates manager Michael Jank. "We came out swinging the bats."
