Skidding Marlins Lose 7th Straight
Despite a fine performance by second baseman Justin Huff, the Miami Marlins lost to the Washington Nationals, 9-6. Huff went 3 for 5 with a triple and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Chris Baran in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Ian Newman took the loss. Washington now has a record of 90-42 with the win.

Luis Torres, the top prospect , had a direct impact on the outcome. Torres contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Washington up, 4-3.

"I don't care about style points," Torres said. "I only care about winning."
