					| Angels Need Extra Innings to Top Padres, 5-2 |
					| The San Diego Padres got a superb performance from pitcher Adam Thompson. Still, it wasn't enough to beat California. The Angels won the game, 5-2. Thompson threw 6.0 innings of 1-hit ball. California reliever Ryan Terlizzi picked up the win, upping his record to 6-5. Klaus Qvist absorbed the loss. The Angels go to 53-78 with the win.
California relied on the hitting of Preston Deakyne to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the 12th inning to put the Angels on top, 3-2. For the game, Deakyne had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Deakyne.
