Rockies Saddle Dodgers with 7-4 Loss
|
The Los Angeles Dodgers and Colorado Rockies left the fans buzzing.
With first baseman Joel Haycock leading the charge, the Colorado Rockies defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers, 7-4, at Colorado Field. Haycock, who finished 3rd in the NL in slugging percentage with .622 last year, was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Colorado pitcher Jaden Mackey got the win. He's now 2-8. Ray Scifo was tagged with the loss. Victor Walshe notched his 5th save in 16 chances.
Fabiano Perrolas chipped in for Colorado with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Haycock.
The Rockies sport a record of 42-87.
