					| Rangers Get Past Detroit for 8-7 Win |
					| Detroit got a terrific game from left fielder Morgan Black. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Texas, 8-7. Black went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Texas reliever Kyle Curve was the winner. His record is now 4-1. Eric Putnam took the loss. Brad Kramer converted his 26th save in 29 tries.
David Casas, who finished 3rd in the AL in hits with 200 last year, chipped in for Texas with a 2-run single in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 5 RBI.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Texas manager Juan Smith.

The Rangers lead the American League West Division by 8½ games.
