					| The Chicago Cubs topped the Cincinnati Reds, 6-1, in National League action at Wrigley Field. The standout performance belonged to Chicago pitcher and Guadalajara, Mexico, native Anass Rhammar. Rhammar, now 12-8, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 11, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Chicago improves to 72-32 with the win. They lead their division by 10½ games. 
 Yasuhide Kasahara took David James deep in the bottom of the third. His 2-run  home run put the Cubs on top, 2-1. In all, Kasahara had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.
 
 "What we get, we earn," Kasahara told the Chicago Observer.
