The Detroit Tigers thumped the Cleveland Indians, 11-2, at Progressive Field. Emmanuel Gaskin was a big reason his team got the win. Gaskin hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 5. Momosuke Sato, the winning pitcher, improved to 11-2. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 4 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 4. Detroit raised its record to 70-32 with the win.

With Detroit leading 4-1 in the top of the third, Gaskin hit a fastball from Jon Glenn for a 3-run home run. It was his 20th home run of the season and put the Tigers ahead, 7-1.
