In an impressive outing, Angel Gonzales whitewashed the Columbus Reds 13-0.

"I'm getting a lot more downward movement instead of side to side. That side-to-side stuff can get hit a long way," said Gonzales, who is throwing with more of an overhand motion.

"It's not rocket science. It was just a little adjustment, but that's all it took."

The Southern Maryland hurler held Columbus scoreless, allowed 3 hits, chalked up 18 strikeouts and yielded no walks.

This year Gonzales has fashioned a 5-2 mark, 1.93 ERA and pitched 51.1 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .162 against him and he has logged 79 strikeouts.
