Amore Too Tough, Blanks Canton
The Canton Indians were almost helpless today in their 8-0 loss to the London Majors and hurler Mario Amore. Amore kept the Indians confused all game, spinning a 4-hit shutout.

"Tip your hat to Amore," Canton manager Donny Von Ringlehoven said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night."

The 18-year-old left-hander had 1 walk and 11 strikeouts in a strong performance.

"It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Amore said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way."

This year Amore has made 27 relief appearances with 9 saves. In 44.1 innings, he has fanned 58 hitters and recorded 4 wins and no losses with a 1.22 ERA.
