Is it better to be lucky or good?

After leading the Niagara Falls Phantoms to victory, 3-0, and tossing a no-hitter over the Winnipeg Goldeyes, Joel Pacheco didn't have the answer.

"I don't know," Pacheco said. "To do what I did today, I'm pretty sure it takes both."

On his big day at Niagara Falls Casino & Resort, Pacheco fanned 19 and had 1 walk. And it seemed that when the Goldeyes managed to hit the ball hard, it went right at a defender.

"That's how you get a no-hitter," Pacheco said with a smile. "A lot of skill mixed with a little luck."

Pacheco has made 12 starts this season, posting 8 wins and 2 losses. Opposing clubs are batting .126 against him and he has 162 strikeouts in 84.1 innings with a 1.39 ERA.
