The home crowd had a good time watching the Cleveland Indians and Kansas City Royals get after it.
Kansas City pitcher Matt Evans did his part in helping his team beat the Cleveland Indians, 6-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The winning pitcher was Evans, now 3-2. He tossed 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 6.
Imbart Faber hit a run-scoring triple off Dennis Beals in the bottom of the fourth, which put the Royals in front, 1-0. Faber had 2 singles, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 3 for 4.
"We'll savor this win," Evans told the Kansas City Citizen, "then get ready for the next game."
With the win, Kansas City pushed its record to 48-44.
