					| The Kansas City Royals beat the Cleveland Indians, 4-1, at Kauffman Stadium. The Royals got a fine performance from catcher Mike Meyerhoff, who hit 2 home runs. Brandon Ferrari picked up the win with 7 innings of work. He allowed 1 run on 6 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 8. On the season, he is now 5-5. Kansas City now has a record of 47-44 with the win. 
 The Royals got an important contribution from third baseman Gareth Busby, who in the bottom of the fourth knocked a 2-1 curveball into right for a solo  home run. It was his 14th home run of the season and put the Royals ahead, 3-1.
 
 "We did a lot of things right," said Meyerhoff.
