Washington Takes 2-1 Lead in League Championship Series
With starter Reece Nichols leading the charge, the Washington Nationals defeated the New York Mets, 4-2, in Game 3 of the League Championship Series today. The right-hander threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball at Citi Field to help Washington take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Washington used the bat of Junzo Kato to get the win. The third baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Nationals ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it did its damage.

Nichols attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Citi Field in New York.
