					| San Francisco beat Atlanta on the strength of starter Curt Howland's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 7-2. In 5.2 innings, Howland surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 5 and  walking 4. He allowed 2 runs. With the win, San Francisco upped its record to 46-35. 
 With no one out in the top of the third, Sean Zielinski barreled up a fastball from Joe Testa. The result was a 2-run  home run, putting the Giants in front, 5-1.
 
 "Throwing strikes was the main thing," Howland said.
