The Detroit Tigers went home winners at Quebecor Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Ryan Sobocinski. Sobocinski stifled the Montreal Expos, enabling Detroit to grab the 4-0 win. Detroit has an impressive 49-15 record.

The Tigers got a big at-bat from left fielder Morgan Black. For the game, Black belted 2 home runs. In the top of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 19th home run of the season gave Detroit a 1-0 lead.

Black attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
