Thorpe Jr. Excels in 6-4 New York Win
The New York Mets topped the New York Yankees, 6-4, in National League action at Citi Field. The standout performance belonged to New York designated hitter and Melbourne, Australia, native Lewis Thorpe Jr.. Sam Schrecengost converted his 3rd save in 3 tries. The triumph puts New York at 35-25 for the season.

Early in the game, Thorpe Jr. had a 3-run home run for New York. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Mets on top, 4-1.
