Kansas City and Cleveland took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.

The Kansas City Royals got a magnificent performance from pitcher Bill Snyder, who stifled the Cleveland offense en route to a 3-1 Royals win at Progressive Field. Kansas City raised its record to 27-27 with the win.

Gil Switzer, the 21-year old right fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Switzer contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth inning to put Kansas City up, 2-1.

"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Switzer.
