					| Cubs Earn 1-0 Win Versus Cardinals |
					| There was never a dull moment in this extra-length game between the Chicago Cubs and the St. Louis Cardinals.
The St. Louis Cardinals wasted an inspired, 7-inning effort from starter Michael Colin, falling 1-0 to the Chicago Cubs at Busch Stadium. Chicago pitcher Eric Oakes got the win, upping his record to 2-0. David Silva got the loss. Picking up the save was George Poirier, his 10th.

Chicago used the timely hitting of Art Kent to capture the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Cubs on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.

"This game tested our mettle," said Kent.

With the victory, the Cubs upped their record to 39-15.
