It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-6 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Chris Thorson, it came around today.

The 21-year-old second baseman scattered hits all over H.P. Hunnicutt Field to pace the Princeton Rays to a 25-2 victory over the Elizabethton Twins.

Elizabethton skipper Kuan-yew Hoong told reporters in the press room that "Thorson deserves a hat-tip."

"He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Thorson hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit."

Chris Thorson singled in the 2nd, hit a GRAND SLAM off Jon Hice in the 3rd, walked in the 4th, singled in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.

For the season Thorson has produced 116 hits in 342 at-bats for a .339 average with 21 home runs and gotten on base at a .452 clip.
