Tigers Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Royals, 11-8
Kansas City first baseman Manny Estrada was sensational. He was 2 for 3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 4 runs and scored once, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Detroit beat the Royals, 11-8. The save went to Jason Williams, his 2nd this season. Detroit now has a 3-game win streak.

Detroit needed the clutch hitting of Tyler Davis to notch the win. The designated hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Tigers on top, 10-8. For the game, Davis had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Davis.
