San Diego rode a fine outing from starter Toby Williams to victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks at Petco Park. The final score was 7-2. The National League West Division-leading Padres are 36-11.

Andy Bowman had a big run-scoring double for the Padres in the bottom of the fourth inning. With San Diego leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he got a cutter from Miguel Martinez and swatted a double to left. It was his 13th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Padres ahead, 3-1.

"I just tried to make good contact," said Bowman.
