The home crowd had a good time watching the Cleveland Indians and Chicago White Sox get after it.
In the 8-5 Chicago win over Cleveland, the impact of Randy Rosenberry was substantial. Rosenberry, who finished 4th in the NL in hits with 204 in 2041, went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Kevin Woods got the win, improving to 4-1. He worked 5.1 innings, giving up 4 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1.
Rocky Campbell dealt the Indians a blow in the bottom of the first. Batting with the bases loaded and Chicago trailing 1-0, Campbell, who is on pace for 108 RBI this season, hit a 1-0 changeup for a 2-run single.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Chicago skipper Larry Stefanski.
The triumph puts Chicago at 32-7 for the season.
