Big Day for Lightell in 7-2 Threshers Win
A 3-RBI performance from third baseman Joe Lightell, who is tied for 2nd in the NL with a .500 on-base percentage, led the Clearwater Threshers to a win over the Lake Elsinore Storm, 7-2. The winner in relief was Jesus Contreras. He is now 3-1. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. With their winning streak at 7, the Threshers have raced to a strong start this season.

Late-game drama came in the top of the eighth inning. With two out and a runner on 3rd, the batter, Ignacio Bernal, hit a run-scoring single. It helped Clearwater seize the win.

"I like how we're playing right now," said Bernal.
