Manatees Upend Hammerheads, 8-5
|
The Brevard County Manatees picked up a win at Roger Dean Stadium, knocking off the Jupiter Hammerheads, 8-5. On the mound for Brevard County was right-hander Edgar Marban, who played a pivotal role in the win. Marban picked up the win for Brevard County, going 6 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 1-1. Matt Stutzman, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.
Brevard County relied on the bat of Tony Howard to get the win. The center fielder produced a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Manatees ahead, 3-0. For the game, Howard had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"I liked his command," said Brevard County manager Jairo Asencio. "Edgar was throwing strikes."
The Hammerheads drop to 10-10 and continue their mediocre start to the 2038 season.
